| September 2nd 2000 on a
warm sunny morning, 3 carloads arrived at the pier in Oban. Davie
was to meet us for the 10:30 ferry. Nae sign o' him! How the hell
could he be late for his last Munro?
Well the steamer was leaving Oban
and we thought that Davie must have taken the early ferry so we took to the
high seas... |
 |
 |
... the crossing was good with some
great views of the islands around Oban & Mull, no seasick passengers
this time! |
|
After scouring the island, still no
sign of Davie or his two cohorts Jimmy & Les! But behind the col on
the final climb we could hear merriment and a figure waving and
shouting!... |
 |
 |
...By the time we got there, half
the booze had gone! |
| Still.. all was forgiven
and Davie West got his last Munro! |
