Saturday, 14th July 2007 - Beinn Alligin, Torridon, North West Highlands.

This is the big one! My last Munro!

Made our way to Torridon on Thurs 12th, camped at Kinlochewe and the midges had a feast!  Friday was a bit dreich but visited Badachro near Gairloch then on to Saturday morning ---

--- psyching up for the big one!

Waterfall at the start, Abhainn Coire Mhic Nobuil.

The Coire nan Laogh, the exit route. Mist still hanging, not looking good!

The start of the "horns" ridge.

Descending the first horn.

The first horn from the second horn.

NOW we see the by-pass path! too late!

Descent from the second horn.

The second horn from the third.

Approaching the third and final horn.

Scrambling along the third horn.  That's a lot of horns!

On the summit of Sgurr Mor, only one to go!

Passing the Eag Dhubh gap, it looks like an endless abyss!

The end is in sight, the last Munro - Tom na Gruagaich.

Is that really pipes I hear??

At long last, after 34 years!! I am now Munroist number 3854 !!

On Tom na Gruagaich with the famous "horns" in the background.

A wee shot of the pipes at the end!

And a braw pint of Guinness at the pub to end it all!

Finally I'd just like to add my sincere thanks to the guys at HMP Glenochil and to Polmont Hillwalking club for their help, support and comradeship over the years. Esprit de Corps isn't dead!  It would have been a much harder journey along the way without you. You know who you are ya mad buggers!

What next? Watch this space :)
